Open Access Policy

The TWAIL Review (TWAILR) is committed to ensuring that all the work we publish is openly and freely accessible to everyone. The TWAIL Review, as well as TWAILR: Reflections, TWAILR: Dialogues and TWAILR: Extra, are published under a Creative Commons licence. There are no charges for authors or their institutions to publish their work with TWAILR and for it to be made immediately and fully open access.

TWAILR does not require the author’s copyright to be assigned for their work published by TWAILR. Authors retain copyright and grant TWAILR right of first publication. Any subsequent republication should fully acknowledge and attribute the work’s previous publication in TWAILR, include the date of first publication, and provide a hyperlink to the original publication on the TWAILR site. Those seeking to republish articles from TWAILR should contact the author and then inform TWAILR. If any help is needed to reach the author, please contact us at submissions@twailr.com.

Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (for example, in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See ‘The Effect of Open Access‘).
